Terms of use
Witho Ltd · Last updated 12 June 2026
These terms explain what Witho is, what it is not, and the basis on which families and helpers use the platform. By enquiring, applying, or accepting an introduction you agree to them.
What Witho is
Witho Ltd is an introduction-only platform. We introduce families to vetted, self-employed local helpers for practical day-to-day support: companionship, errands, outings, shopping, and light help at home. The arrangement for support is made directly between the family and the helper. Witho is not a party to that arrangement.
What Witho is not
Witho is not a care agency and not a regulated care provider. Helpers do not provide personal care (such as washing, dressing, toileting, or medication administration) or nursing or clinical care of any kind. Activities of that nature are regulated, and they sit outside what Witho introduces helpers for. If your needs include personal care, we will say so honestly and point you towards regulated providers.
Helpers are self-employed
Helpers are independent, self-employed individuals. They are not employees, workers, or agents of Witho. They choose which introductions to accept, how they organise their work, and they are responsible for their own tax, National Insurance, and insurance.
Pricing
The standard rate is £20 per hour, and the full £20 goes to the helper. Witho charges no platform fee to families and no fee to helpers. If payment processing is introduced, any card processing cost will be shown clearly before you pay.
Vetting
Before introducing a helper we verify identity, right to work, references, and DBS status, and we interview every helper. Vetting reduces risk; it cannot eliminate it. Families remain responsible for deciding whether a particular helper is right for them, and we encourage an introductory meeting before any support begins.
Cancellations and problems
Sessions are arranged between family and helper, and so are changes to them. We ask both sides to give as much notice as possible. If something goes wrong, tell us at hello@witho.co.uk — we take concerns seriously and will help put things right, including offering an alternative introduction.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, Witho’s service is the making of introductions, and our liability is limited to losses arising directly from our failure to carry out vetting and introductions with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of helpers or families in arrangements made between them.
General
We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
